Jepaa (Jepaa.com) : The great .Tel search engine Jepaa (Jepaa.com) : a .Tel search engine is taking off. Finally we have a real .tel search engine come out now. I am really exited when I see Jeppa : 1. This is what all .tel lovers wanted, a nice .tel only search engine (Die .Tel Suchmaschine), when people want to search contact information, they do not need to google and dig in thousands of web sites which have nothing to do with contact information, here we got one, because .tel means contacs and communication, need contact information, we Jepaa instead of Google 2. At least , the developer is in Switzerland, and must be German in Switzerland. 7. What the word Jepaa mean ? I checked ,it seems neither English words nor German word, maybe some kind abbreviation ? Anyway, I like this name personally, many search engines like to have two same letters in the name, like, gOOgle, YahOO, so why not JepAA, it is also very easy to remember and pronounce, and pronunciation sounds beautiful. (Actually, many German words contain TWO "a", I stayed one year in Germany, the city name I stayed is Aachen which has two "a"s) 8. I just love it, love everything of it, even its logo is lovely and vivid. 9. Jepaa “Adwords” ? I think Jeppa “Adwords” function is already there, when you just do location search with “City”,say search Toronto, It gives you the map of Toronto, and at same time, it lists all Toronto related .tel sites, If Jepaa charge some money for that, this is Jepaa “Adwords” 10. Jepaa “Adsense” : one of the major issue for .tel to take off and have a great success is that there are should be some ways availible to moneytize the .tel domain names, like google “Adsense”, If we have Adsense for .tel, thousands more people will get .tel. Maybe Telnic and Jepaa can work together to develop something like Adsense ? maybe Telpages.com will provide something like that ? Let’s see how telpages will provide more functions for all .Tel lovers? Personally, I like German Engineering, because they always try to make perfect products. How to search dottel domain names in google

There are many .tel domains indexed by google.
You can search indexed .tel in following way :
Go to google.com

1. Search domains , list indexed .tels
site:*.tel
2. Search in keywords , list .tel domain names with the keyword, say .tels with “hotel” keyword

Dotttel keywords domain name : singular or plural ?

There are still many keywords .tel domain names available , some time we are not sure to choose singular or plural word.

Singular keyword should refer a specific object, plural should refer to broad objects.

I set up a site : thehotel.tel, one .tel lover give the opinion as” I think it is a very poor choice .
The hotel refers to one specific hotel only”

I have both thehotel.tel and thehotels.tel,the reason why I choose thehotel.tel over thehotels.tel is below:

(1.)when people search a term in search engine (like google), singular word should refer to a specific thing, not broad, for example, if search “the car”, it doesn’t necessarily mean to search a specific car, if they search specific car, they may search as “Car Toyota Camry”

(2)Important thing is that how many people search the keywords/term, when people search hotel, they should just search keywords “hotel” or “hotels”, but there are many people search “the hotel”, I do not why, but they do: Google search in March statistics for “the hotel” and “the hotels”as below:

“The Hotels ” broad search 1,830,000 times, “The Hotel” broad search 3350000 times
“The Hotels ” exact search 320 times, “The Hotel” exact search 9900 times

This means from March googol search statistics , more people search “the hotel” than “the hotels” in both broad and exact search.

In addition, in Google , if you do exact search “the hotel” and “the hotels” (put keywords “ ” will give you exact search results) :
“The Hotels” got 5,020,000 results , but “the hotel” got 73,600,000 results.

I am not sure if I am right in this case to choose “thehotel.tel” over “thehotels.tel”

I checked all major DOTTEL domains (non .tel extensions: dottel.com/net/org/info/biz/me/asia/ca/us), all of them are already registered by some one, but very few of them are live.

Actually, right now only two of them are live, one is dottel.ca which is redirected to webnames.ca, another one is dottel.mobi.

Different company has different set up of their telhosting.
I have some .tel dmians with Name.com and some with another company.
Name.com telehosting is easier to manage multiple domains, you have a “master account”,
login with this master account you can manage all your domains in one place, there is a drop box you can select the domain you like to manage. But with another company, you have to manage your domains individually, there is no master account, you have to login separately to manage every domain individually, it is not that convenient as name.com’s telhoting.

In terms of search engine, .tel is good at ” structural data “, but not at “rich in contents ” and “aging”.
Because of .tel’s unique characteristic, like NOT rich in contents but focused on contents (contact information).

On Cheap Dot Tel Alternative

Elliot is claiming that .info can be cheap alternative of .Tel, because .info is selling $0.99 and .tel is selling more than $10. and he gave a site : http://www.elliotsilver.info/ as a demo.

But I do not agree with him. because there are some fundamental differences between .tel and other extensions.
.tel stores data on DNS, not like others which stores data in a web server. I looked his demo site on my Blackberry, yes, it looks no big difference with .tel. but it is slow, because .tel is suit for mobile devices , but other extension not. Most important is that, you need a web server (host) for your .info, you need at least minimum knowledge of web site and programming, although it is easy for Elliot to set up a simple web server/page, but is still a “Rocket Science ” for may many normal people. With .tel, it is a much much easier task, I think my grandma can set .tel up. I have not got a chance let her try to setup one of my .tel domains, I will and will let you know the result.

.Tel is really an innovative idea with it’s simplicity without need a website and web host, you do not need any knowledge of website and web programming like HTML/ASP/PHP etc.
In terms of simplicity, I think even my grandma can set it up.

People buy .Tel to store their contacts info online in a easy way, but some people buy .Tel to drive some traffic to their other websites (especially with those generic name key words .tel domains). The problem is : there is now way at this time to check how many people visited my dot tel domains. Is there any way, your .TEL hosting can provide some kind .tel domain “web counter”, so people can at least know how many visitors visited their .tel sites? even very simple “web counter” is OK , but if you can do statistics of “Visitors”,” from which search engine this visitor came from” ,”"from which keywords” etc. even better.
